CareerSpring Advisee: Ngoc Nguyen

Ngọc Nguyen graduated from Smith College with a degree in Quantitative Economics ready to enter the workforce. However, after a few months of balancing her search for a full-time role in finance while working at her parent’s salon—Ngoc realized she needed some support and turned to CareerSpring.

Ngoc quickly signed up for an onboarding session and met CareerSpring’s Michael Khoury, where she received the encouragement and confidence boost she needed. Following Michael’s guidance, she had multiple consultations with Advisors, all of which she says were meaningful conversations. Ngoc shared,

“For months, I had used many different job search platforms, but CareerSpring stood out to me because of its focus on learning through conversation. Learning by asking. Learning by reaching out for help. CareerSpring emphasized teamwork throughout its Platform and for all the months that I job-searched alone only to realize that I shouldn’t do it alone. CareerSpring was there, ready with every tool to get me going and going far.”

Eventually a consultation with Advisor Chuck Sulerzyski changed everything for Ngoc. Chuck was quickly impressed by her and thought she would be a great fit for a role at his company. With Chuck’s encouragement, Ngoc connected with his team at People’s Bank and after a series of interviews secured a full-time role. Ngoc is now applying her education to the real world, working at a company she is extremely proud to work for.

Taking the first step can be difficult, but first-generation and/or low-income students and graduates don’t have to take it alone. No matter where you are in your career journey, CareerSpring is here to help you take the next step!
