Advisee Spotlight: Saul Guzman
In 2024, Saul Guzman—a Marketing and Information Systems major at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign—discovered CareerSpring through an email that would quickly change everything for him. He wasted no time in tapping into our Network and resources, applying to and securing a spot to our CareerSpring FORWARD Internship Program.
As a FORWARD Marketing Intern with Employer Partner Payroc, Saul was determined to make the most of this experience. He shared “I was inspired to apply for CareerSpring because of my friends and support group on campus. They all had internships, and stressed the benefits of going out and getting one in my freshman year.” Although only a three-week internship experience, reflecting that “My biggest takeaway as a FORWARD intern so far has been to ask questions. Everyone wants to help you as an intern, and you never know what you can learn if you just reach out for a quick conversation.”
Fast forward to this Spring—now equipped with a renewed confidence and industry experience—Saul once again turned to CareerSpring’s resources to support him in his search for career opportunities. With every application, our team supported him with interview preparation tools and a supportive network of Advisors to connect with for advice. As a result, Saul successfully secured another summer internship through the CareerSpring Network with Employer Partner Medline Industries as a Product Management Intern.
CareerSpring is proud to partner with companies like Medline Industries to connect FGLI students to life-changing opportunities. Lauren Miller from their Human Resources Team shared, “Medline is proud to partner with CareerSpring…The students’ passion, resilience, and fresh ideas have enriched our teams and reaffirmed our commitment to investing in early talent.”
We’re grateful for Employer Partners like Medline Industries, Payroc, and all of our FORWARD Partners, who are helping us make a difference. Our work would not be possible without our Employer Partners, and is vital for Advisees like Saul. As he shared, “CareerSpring has helped me with my internship journey by putting me in the right situations and introducing me to the right people to grow.”
